Ellen Schreiner is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a diverse and integrative approach to mental health and healing. Based in Chicago, Ellen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and holds Master of Arts degrees in both Counseling Psychology and Literature from Northwestern University. In addition to her counseling practice, she is a consultant on group and organizational dynamics, employing the Tavistock model to explore systems theory, leadership, and diversity.


Ellen’s therapeutic approach is holistic, addressing healing at the mind, body, and spirit levels. She believes in the importance of nervous system regulation and heart/brain coherence as part of the healing process. Ellen incorporates traditional psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches while also utilizing a range of healing modalities, including Jungian dream analysis, visualization, breathwork, energy work, meditation, yoga, Ayurveda, intuition medicine, shamanic practices, and nutrition, as well as intuitive embodiment work.


By offering a dynamic, integrative system of treatment, Ellen helps her clients navigate their emotional landscapes, promoting mental clarity and personal growth. Her work emphasizes the connection between mental and physical well-being, creating a space where clients can find balance and achieve healing on multiple levels.
